How To Fix DATA and OBB Files
1. Installing APK files
If you already have a file manager like CX, NP, or MT, you can skip this section.
-
Go to the Oculus Store and search for "Mobile VR Station." Download and install it.
-
Use the trigger on your Oculus or tap it with your fingers to open the app.
-
Click on the red power button at the bottom of the welcome screen.
-
Navigate to the Local Files Folder > All Folders > Downloads Folder, and open the APK file you want to install. Click "Install."
Congratulations! You have successfully installed an APK file.
2. Using the installed File Manager APK
-
Go to where you open your games.
-
Click on "All" at the top right corner and choose "Unknown Sources." You should see your file manager there.
-
Open the File Manager to install and manage files.
3. Enabling OBB and data folder access
-
Download Shizuku APK file (https://github.com/RikkaApps/Shizuku/releases) and Lightning Launcher (https://github.com/threethan/LightningLauncher/releases/).
-
Open BOTH Shizuku and Lightning Launcher, BOTH should appear in front of you.
-
In Lightning Launcher, Open Android settings, NOT HEADSET SETTINGS.
-
In Lightning Launcher Android Settings, Scroll until you see "About Device" or "About Headset". Tap the "Build Number" like 10 times or something till it says "You are a Developer!"
-
In Lightning Launcher Android Settings, Go back (Same place you found About Headset) Then scroll down to "System" then go to "Developer Option".
-
In Lightning Launcher Android Settings, Scroll down to "Wireless Debugging" and Enable it.
-
Now if it says "Allow" or "Don't Allow", choose "Allow". After thatclick on "Pair with code".
-
In Shizuku, Click on Pair with code then type in the 6-digit code from Lightning Launcher.
-
In Shizuku, Scroll up to "authorized apps" and enable it for "MP File Manager" (MP File Manager).
Congrats! You can now open OBB and data folder. Keep in mind you have to do this every time you power on your headset/restart it.
